An animal that eats only producers.
What is a producer?
A living thing, such as a plant, that makes its own food.
What is photosynthesis?
The process of making food by using water from the soil, carbon dioxide from the air, and energy from the sunlight.
What is an energy pyramid?
A diagram that shows how much food energy is passed from each level in a food chain to the next.
What is decomposer?
A consumer that obtains food energy by breaking down the remains of a dead plant and animals.
What is the ecosystem?
A community of organisms and the environment in which they live.
What is the food chain?
The transfer of food energy between organisms in an ecosystem.
What is a consumer?
An animal that eats plants, other animals or both.
What does chlorophyll do?
It enables a plant to absorb light energy so that it can produce food.
What is the formula for photosynthesis?
Water from soil
Ccarbon dioxide from the air
Energy from the sunlight
What are primary consumers?
Herbivores
What are second level consumers?
Carnivores and omnivores
