Every narrative is expressed from a perspective of a persona.
Point of View
− Told from a perspective of an individual. Pronouns used in this are: I, Me, and We.
First Person POV
Directly involves the reader in the narrative. Pronouns used in this are: You and Your.
Second Person POV
− Presents all the thoughts and feelings of the characters to the readers.
Third Person POV - Omniscient
Presents all the thoughts and feelings of only one character to the readers,
while presenting descriptions of other characters.
Third Person POV - Limited
Dialogues and other elements in the scenes suggest events that will
happen in the latter part of the story.
Foreshadowing
- Unresolved ending encourages readers to eagerly wait for succeeding
episodes.
Cliffhanger
Used to break the chronology of events and to explain the character’s
past.
Flashback
Most of the time included in the exposition of a narrative, explaining the
context of the story.
Backstory
Making the characters experience what they keep on thinking
or saying.
Self-fulfilling prophecy
Also known as subplots, are used to develop the story or highlight minor
characters in a story.
Frame Story
