rights under the law (e.g., innocent until proven guilty, right to a fair trial, etc.)
Democratic Rights
right to vote, right to run in an election, right to select a new government at least every 5 years
Mobility Rights
right to move and work in any province in Canada
Official Languages Act
English & French are the 2 official languages in Canada
Freedom of Conscience & Religion
right to do as your conscience says, and the right to follow the religion of your choice
Freedom of Thought, Belief and Expression
right to think, believe and communicate your thoughts
Freedom of Association
right to establish or belong to an organization (unless it’s illegal)
Freedom of Peaceful Assembly
the right to gather (and demonstrate in public as long as it is peaceful)
Right to Life, Liberty & Personal Security
right to live, have freedom and be safe
Minority Language Education Rights
right to be educated in French if your parent is French, they went to a French school, or you have a sibling in a French school
