What is Abraham’s obligation?
Faith and circumcision
Is circumcision the covenant or the sign of the covenant?
Exegetically, the answer is both on this.
But specifically, the covenant is not circumcision, but the covenant is the promises given to Abraham by God. Circumcision is the sign of assurance to Abraham. But God speaks of it in a close identification because they are tied together in such a way that if you reject the sign you reject the covenant.
What does circumcision mean?
