Defined enculturation as a process where the culture that is currently established teaches an individual the accepted norms and values of the culture of the society where the individual lives.

Status
Two types of status
Ascribed and achieved
Is assigned or given on the basis of a fixed category without regard to a person’s ability or performance.
Ascribed status
Is earned by the individual by working hard for it like being a professional or a skilled worker.
Achieved status
The responsibility attached to the status of an individual
Social Role
Ex: Mother who is also an executive

Ex: Student during finals week
Role strain
The formation of an individual’s distinct personality which is considered as a persisting entity in a particular stage of life by which a person is known or recognized by some people
Identity formation
When we are born, we absorb some of our genetic and biological make up from our parents.

As we socialize and develop, we absorb other factors that greatly influence our human development.

Are groups of people who share information, contacts, and experiences for professional or social purposes. For ex. Sharing to a friend about a job vaccancy
Networks
Distinguished from networks that are used for business purposes.
Social Networking
According to her, social media is changing the way we communicate and the way we are percieved, both positively and negatively.
