the purpose of this speech is to give or share information, the information must be significant and important

definition speech
the purpose is to give meaning to words, phrases, or issues that are considered controversial / answers questions
description speech
the aim is to make the audience imagine by using imagery language
demonstration speech
the aim is to show the audience how to do something (correctly) / “how to” or “the process” speech
persuasive speech
the purpose of this speech is to convince the audience to change their beliefs/attitude/behavior, and also persuade them to take action
three main forms of persuasive speech
1.) ethos
2.) pathos
3.) logos
ethos
refers to the speaker’s ethics and credibility
pathos
refers to the speaker’s ability to appeal to the audience’s emotions
logos
refers to the speaker’s ability to use logic and reasoning
entertainment speech
the purpose of this speech is to make the audience smile, relax, and make them forget about their problems
inspirational speech
the purpose of this speech is to inspire or motivate the audience
