Excessive Talking
A preconceived opinion or feeling, which is usually irrational, to the speaker’s race, religion, age, or appearance. This person will not exert any effort to listen and understand a speaker.
Prejudice
The four main types of this are; physical, mental, auditory, and visual
Distractions
Everyone has his own beliefs and values, learn to appreciate that not everyone has the same belief as yours.
Expecting others to share your personal beliefs and values
An example would be the inability to hear correctly, and not understanding what the speaker is trying to communicate.
Misunderstanding
__________ a conversation with improper body language or inappropriate words will have a negative impact in effective communication.
Interrupting
There’s eye contact and the person shows facial expression, but his mind is elsewhere. This is a manifestation of lack of respect and dishonesty
Faking Attention
Listener’s senses are not likely to function to its maximum when he is angry or sad.
Bringing in emotions.
An unwanted sound which serves as an impediment to effective communication. It is not possible to communicate in an environment such as this. It becomes frustrating for both the speaker and the listener.
Noise
People who are afraid are not likely to pay attention or express themselves freely. They tend to become defensive or arguementative.
