What is sublimation
When a solid changes it’s state to gas
What is condensation
Change in state from gas to liquid
What is conduction
Transfer of heat energy through direct contact between particles
What is convection
Transfer of heat energy through the mixing of a fluid
What is radiation
Transfer of energy between separate objects without heating the space in between
What is precipitation
Liquid or solid water droplets that fall from the atmosphere to the ground
What is Dew point
The atmospheric temperature below which water droplets begin to condense and dew can form
What is latent heat
The energy absorbed or released when a substance changes state
What is saturation
The state of air when it is holding the maximum amount of water vapour that it can at that temperature
What is relative humidity
the amount of water vapour present in air expressed as a percentage of the amount needed for saturation at the same temperature.
What is absolute humidity
The actual amount of water vapour in the air
What is insolation
Incoming solar radiation from the sun
What is Deposition
Change in state from gas to a solid
