It involves the collection, transport, processing, recycling, and disposal of waste materials
Ecological Solid Waste Management Act of 2000
These come from housekeeping activities, like residential or household or domestic wastes.
Solid wastes
These include human wastes, industrial wastewater, floodwater and standing waters, and other hazardous household and industrial liquids.
Liquid wastes
- These are wastes that can be decomposed by bacteria and other microorganisms.
Biodegradable wastes
- These are wastes that do not decompose.
Nonbiodegradable wastes
These are wastes generated from commercial industrial, and agricultural activities that are toxic and may pose threats to the environment
Hazardous wastes
-These are waste materials that are not considered hazardous, like paper, cardboards, wrappings, paper packaging materials and others.
Nonhazardous wastes
- to minimize the amount of waste being produced
Reduce
to use discarded items again, if possible.
Reuse
to use the discarded materials to make new products, like plastics, tin cans, etc.
Recycle
to retrieve or convert useful wastes to energy-producing programs
Recover
a system of waste disposal by burying waste into the soil.
