Acid cleaners
help and contribute to the cleaning action of laundry detergents and offer special functions and benefits
Laundry aids
are cleaning agents that are applied to a surface to form a hard, protective layer
Polishes
Alkaline-based cleaning agents are used in laundry and are particularly good for removing grease.
Alkaline cleaners
(washing soda) is used to soften water and remove light grease marks
Sodium carbonate
(caustic soda) is used for removing grease from grills and blocked drains
Sodium hydroxide
(bleach) is used for whitening and removing stains from hard and soft surfaces.
Sodium hypochlorite
These cleaning agents are used extensively for dry cleaning and for stain removal.
Solvent cleaners
These are applied to a floor’s surface to form a semi-permanent protective coating to prevent dirt, liquid, grease stains, and bacteria from penetrating it.
Floor seals
- It is a clear solvent-based sealer used on wood, cork, and magnesite floors. It consists of oils, resins, and solvents.
Oleo-resinous seal
- It is made up of synthetic materials. It is used on wood, cork, and magnesite floor.
One-pot plastic seal
This sealer contains color pigment that provides color and also strengthens the sealers. It is used on wood, concrete, and stone floors.
Pigmented floor seal
are used to kill harmful germs.
Disinfectants
- It comes in diluted or concentrated solution and is used to disinfect surfaces in different areas of the facilities, like in the hospitals
Phenol
- Its elements, such as chlorine and iodine, may be used as disinfectants
Halogen
These are substances or chemicals that depend on their rubbing or scratching action to clean dirt from hard surfaces.
Abrasive cleaners
- Jeweler’s rouge is a fine powder of ferric oxide used for shining silver
Fine abrasives
Commonly used hard abrasives include sand paper, fine ash, pumiced stone, and steel wool.
