Advantages to ethnography
A
- participants in study can be directly observed
- data collected is very valid
- high in ecological validity (can generalise results)
- as multiple methods used provides sociologist with a holistic understating of human behaviour)
- subjective approach so high levels of verstehen

A
-Research is low in reliability
- ethical issues
- can be hard to enter and gain access to group

- may cause bias after forming rapport , too subjective
