Obadiah
What was God’s judgement on the nations intended to achieve?
Calling them to come to repentance.
Nineveh was the capital of which powerful empire?
Assyria
Why didn’t Jonah want to go and prophesy to Nineveh?
Because he was afraid that the prophecy he gave for their doom might actually be effective in calling them to repentance.
What does the book of Jonah ask us?
It asks us what our response will be when God does not punish the people that we think should be punished.

What made Amos’s task difficult?
Not only was he not from Israel, he was sent to prophecy judgement against Israel.

Sin was the sin of not following God.
How did Amos describe the Day of the Lord?
It would be a day of mourning and darkness.
