What is the Kuiper Belt?

A belt of icy objects orbiting the sun past Neptune.

What are the differences between a planet and a dwarf planet?
A
Dwarf planets do not have enough gravity to clear their surrounding area of space clutter.

Why do we use spacecraft to study the dwarf planets?
A
Because our telescopes cannot see the planets very clearly from Earth while a spacecraft can pass by the dwarf planet very closely, take pictures, and measure scientific data.
