How many “Parts” are there for Medicare Coverage
4: (1) Part A which covers hospital stays, skilled nursing facilities, rehab facilities and hospice; (2) Part B which covers outpatient services like doctor visits’ (3) Part C - these are Medicare Advantage plans; (4) Part D which covers drug benefits
What are Medicare Advantage Plans required to cover?
Everything covered under “Original Medicare” which is Parts A (hospital, rehab and hospice) and Part B services (doctor visits, lab services, durable medical equipment, etc.). But most MA plans also cover many additional “supplemental” benefits like dental, transportion, vision and hearing and much more. Most also offer Part D drug benefits.
Who is eligible for Medicare?
Mostly seniors aged 65 and over; but also members with disabilities can get Medicare coverage
