Q

What is Spherical Aberration?

A
  • When only parallel light rays that are close to the principal axis converge at F (focal point)
  • Parallel light rays that hit areas near the edges DON’T converge at F
    ONLY SEEN with THICK LENSES

Q

What is Chromatic Aberration?

A

When white light disperses into colours (lens acts as a prism).
Aberrations can be corrected by combining many lenses together or using thinner lenses.
