Makes our laws. Congress is two bodies; the House of Representatives and Senate. Congress prints money and can declare war. Approved treaties and presidential appointments.
MAKES THE LAWS
Legislative Branch
435 members ( based on population, Virginia plan ). US representatives elected serve two year terms. The leader is the Speaker.
House of Representatives
100 members ( 2 per state ) equal representation ( New Jersey Plan ) they serve 6 year terms
Senate
President. Includes Vice President and Cabinet.) Their job is to enforce laws & negotiate foreign treaties. Their elected by the electoral college.
ENFORCES THE LAWS
Executive Branch
Supreme Court. Made up of the Chief of Justice and 8 judges. Appointed by President and confirmed by Senate. They serve for life. Interprets laws but have no power to pass or enforce the laws.
