5 individual liberties. Protects freedom of speech, religion, the press, assemble peacefully, & to petition the government to change its policies.
1st Amendment
Rights to bear arms
2nd Amendment
Congress can’t force citizens to quarter troops in their homes
3rd Amendment
Protects Americans from unlawful searches of home and property.
4th Amendment
Citizens can’t be forced to give evidence against themselves. Can’t be tried for the same crime twice.
5th Amendment
Guaranteed the right to a speedy trial and public trial by an impartial, or fair jury.
6th Amendment
Provides juries for civil and non-criminal trials
7th Amendment
Forbids judges from ordering excessive bail or fines or “ cruel and unusual”

Individual rights aren’t limited to this listed in the Constitution

Powers are reserved to the states and the people.
