A

It means that whoever wrote or made something owns the rights to it.
Eg You can’t just take an image from somewhere and use it in your own products.

A

A Creative Commons licence allows you to use someone’s work for free.
There are several types of Creative Commons licences.

CC BY: You can use the material for free but need to quote the source.

CC BY NC: You can use the material for non commercial purposes (ie you mustn’t profit from it) and you must still quote the source.

A

Anything that is published has copyright protection automatically.

You can ask for permission to use it.

Copyright lapses after a number of years eg Alice in Wonderland images.It is then available to use freely.

A

Trademarks have to be registered.

If they are registered, then you are not allowed to use the. Eg there can only be one Harrodsburg. No-one else is allowed to use this name.

You shouldn’t include trademarks in your products unless previously agreed
