How does the Equality act improve disability?
Reasonable adjustments
Making it easier for someone to show that they difficulty carrying out every day tasks
Protected from indirect discrimination
What is a reasonable adjustment?
Any step which can be reasonably taken to prevent any provision, criterion or practice , or any physical feature of its premise, from putting a disabled person at a disadvantage in comparison to a non-disabled person.
What would you do if you couldn’t make a reasonable adjustment?
You have a responsibility to facilitate care for them in a practice who can accommodate them- refer elsewhere.
If a patient cannot get into the chair themselves, what could you do?
