The clause of a writ or declaration containing statement of damages claimed.
Ad damnum
A carrying away; felonious removal of goods.
Asportation
Moving a case from one county to another.
Change of venue
The party making complaint, thus instigating prosecution in a legal action.
Complainant
That which strengthens or confirms.
Corroboration
One which simply declares the rights of parties or expresses opinion of the court on a question of law without ordering anything to be done. It is distinguished from other actions and that it does not seek execution or preference from the defendant or opposing parties.
Declaratory judgment
Interrogation of one’s own party or witnesses.
Direct examination
According a person all of the rights and privileges afford by the law.

With greater reason or more convincing force.
A fortiori
Action to take possession of mortgage property and to collect for amounts still due and owing there on when the conditions set forth in the mortgage have not been met.
