claudication + isch rest pain
arterial - management
Ix: ABPI, dopplers
Rx: RFs + vascular referral
neuropathic
peripheral neuropathy: burning, altered sensation, paraesthesia, missing reflexes
ulcers often painless
usually pressure areas; thick rim (callouses)
may be deep and punched out, can be granulating
warm skin, normal pulses
general management
emollients
moist dressings
debridement (incl. larvae)
ABx for infection
DDx
vasculitic ulcer: purpura, purple ulcers
ecthyma: chronic, crusted non-healing ulcer;
