Leg 1 Flashcards
Name the compartments of the leg
- Anterior
- Lateral
- Posterior
- Superficial
What are the two branches of the sciatic nerve? What is their orientation relative to eachother in the leg (ie: more superficial, lateral etc.)
Tibial Nerve: Passes more medially
Common Fibular Nerve: Passes more laterally
Does the tibial or common fibular nerve have its own branches? What are they called and what compartments of the leg do they pass through?
- Common fibular
- Superficial and Deep Branch
- Superficial Branch passes through lateral compartment of leg
- Deep Branch passes through anterior compartment of leg
What compartment of the leg does the tibial nerve pass through?
Posterior compartment of the leg
What does the femoral artery become as it passes posterior to the knee?
Popliteal artery
What are the branches of the popliteal artery?
- Anterior Tibial Artery
- Posterior Tibial Artery
- Fibular Artery
Name the branches of the femoral/popliteal artery
From top to bottom: Anterior tibial artery -> Fibular artery -> Posterior tibial artery
Name the pictured nerve and artery
Anterior tibial artery / Deep branch of common fibular nerve
Name the circled arteries and nerve
Top circle to bottom circle:
* Fibular artery
* Tibial nerve / Posterior Tibial Artery
Name the circled nerve
Superficial branch of common fibular nerve
