What does the receivables ledger include?
A T-account for each credit customer.
What do the customer accounts in the receivables ledger include?
Invoices, credit notes, payments, discounts and amount owed by that customer
What does the payables ledger include?
A T-account for each credit supplier
What do the customer accounts in the payables ledger include?
Invoices, credit notes, payments, discounts and amount owed to that supplier
What does the general ledger include?
A T-account for every item that will appear in financial statements
What are some of the items that will appear in the financial statements?
Revenue, purchases, expenses, etc
Where will each credit note or invoice be entered into? 4
One of the books of prime entry; either the sales journal, purchases journal, purchases returns journal or sales returns journal
Where will each invoice or credit note also be entered into?
Either the receivables or payables ledger
Where will the monthly total from each book of prime entry be entered into?
The relevant section of the general ledger.
