Why is culture important in HR?
Culture clashes can occur in IHR when people are exposed to different beliefs and values but fail to adapt their own behaviours.

What is the power distance variable?
relates to hierarchy, distribution of power and social inflexibility
What is the Individualism variable?
the extent to which people emphasise individual or collective identity
What is the masculinity/femininity variable?
the distribution of roles and responsibilities between genders
What is the Uncertainty avoidance variable?
the extent to which a community is comfortable with ambiguity and uncertainty
What is the long-term vs short-term variable?
whether a society reflects a short or long term perspective on relationships
