What is scaffolding
Process that enables a student to solve a problem do a task achieve a goal that would be beyond their unassisted efforts
An instructional technique in which teacher models desired learning strategies / tasks and then gradually shifts responsibility for using that task to the student
Role of teacher in ZPD
Collaborative interaction with student
Determine level of comprehension and work slightly beyond it
Scaffold is gradually withdrawn when competent
Purpose of differentiated instruction
Create learning enviro that optimizes learning and increases success for all students
