- A definable membership: a collection of three or more people identifiable by name or type;
- A group identity: the members think of themselves as a group;
- A sense of shared purpose: members share some common task or goals or interests;
- Interdependence: the members need the help of one another to accomplish the purpose for which they joined the group;
- Interaction: members communicate with one another, influence one another, react to one another;
- Sustainability: the team members periodically review theteam’s effectiveness;

Two types of teams
Self-directed teams:
no set positions, positions are developed based on
the activity or event
Structured teams:
set positions within the organization e.g.
committees for various events and campus
organization

What is trust and how does it develop
Trust: the willingness to rely on others in the absence of
monitoring
It delvops by:
Incentives
* Familiarity
* Similarity
* Social embeddedness
* Implicitly
Trustworthiness 3 factors
You must be seen as trustworthy before your teammates will
trust you
Assessments of trustworthiness are based on three factors:
- Ability
Relevant competencies and skills - Benevolence
Respect, care, and compassion - Integrity
Upholding norms and values deemed important
