Lecture 7 Toric fitting and aftercare Flashcards
What is WTR astigmatism?
What is ATR astigmatism?
-vertical meridian is steeper
-horizontal meridian is steeper
What type of lens should you give for lenticular astigmatism?
front surface toric
What toric lens design do you get in RCL’s?
-front surface toric (used in residual astigmatism)
-Back surface toric (used for stabilisation)
-Bi-Toric
What toric lens design do you get in soft lenses?
prism ballast (traditional, peri-ballast, reverse prism)
Dynamic stabilisation (dual thin zone, accelerated stabilisation)
How can toric lens rotation effect vision?
*Stable rotation (permanent rotation): effects px vision. Vision will stay reduced.
*Rotation with blink (lens shift back again): effects px comfort. Vision will fluctuate.
How can you correct rotation?
CAAS: clockwise add, anti-clockwise subtract
LARS: left add, right subtract
