Globalization
The growing economic, political, and social interconnectedness among societies throughout the world.
Leads to new health related challenges:
1. Increased travel means increased spread of communicable diseases
2. Globalization also reduces the power of government
3. Reduces working conditions in poor countries
Universal healthcare
First started in Saskatchewan Canada in 1962
Due to meritocracy with the weather not working in your favour farming skills became irrelevant they recognized the need for free healthcare due to poverty happening to anyone
Healthcare in the US
- The only developed nation without universal health care
- Spends more per person healthcare than any other country in the OCED
- Overall quality of health care is worse but high-income Americans receive better care
Why is costs higher in the US?
Private health care is subject to free market economies: supply and demand
