Advocacy
Helping others to grow and self-actualize by informing them of their rights and ascertaining that they have sufficient information on which to base their decisions.
Goals of the advocate
- To inform.
- To enhance autonomy.
- To respect others’ decisions.
Whistle-blowers
- Individuals who speak out about organizational practices they believe may be harmful or inappropriate.
- Internal whistle-blowing occurs within an organization, reporting up the chain of command.
- External whistle-blowing involves reporting outside the organization such as to the media or an elected official.
The essence of advocacy is _
