What are the principles of identification?

A

Each human being is unique
Availability of details at macroscopic or microscopic level is required to individualise.
If sufficient details are present in antemortem records even monozygotic twins can be distinguished.

What are the traditional methods of identification?

A

Visual- viewing of the deceased by family or friends
Property- presence of identification documents, body found in registered vehicle or dwelling
