Lecture 3 Flashcards
What is ‘Bivalent’ chromatin state
They are the regulatory factors that contains both activating and repressive histone modification which thus causing the differentiation genes be both silenced and ‘poised’ for activation.
Does mouse ESCs have fixed state in terms of repressed state or activated state
Mouse ESCs in conventional culture are
in a constant state of flux (bivalent state)
Is Stem cells prime state and naive state reversible?
In a stem cell – both states are reversible.
What does LIF/LIFR-gp130/Jak-Stat3 pathway do
Klf4, c-myc, Tfcp21/self-renewal
What does FGF/FGFR/MEK/ERK pathway do
differentiation/inhibit self-renewal
What does Wnt/Frizzled-Lrp5-6/β-catenin (GSK3) pathway do
Klf4, c-myc
