- Unilateral contraction of Sternocleidomastoid muscle
- Side bend towards and chin rotated away

A
- May cause facial asymmetry
- Changes in cervical vertebrae
- May find palpable lump within muscle

Causes of Acquired Torticollis
A
- Cervical lymphadenitis
- Minor trauma neck injury
- Unilateral subluxation of the vertebra
- Fractures
- Spinal tumor
- Retropharyngeal tumor
- Strabismus (ocular torticollis)

A
- Root compression of spinal nerves
- May cause pain, tingling, or numbness

- Disc Herniation
- Cervical arthritis with osteophyte format
