What are the hierarchy of needs?
- Physiological (food, shelter, etc.)
- Safety and security

4: Egotistical

What is assertiveness? (social style)
Amount and type of control a person tries to exert over another
What is responsiveness? (social style)
Manner with which a person expresses emotion
What are the social styles?
Analytic: Critical, indecisive
Driver: Pushy, determined
Amiable: Complying, supportive
Expressive: manipulative, personable
How could the social styles conflict?
Analytics: slow task
Drivers: fast task
Amiables: slow people
Expressives: fast people
Driver needs not met?
“Get it done”, they run people over, use embarrassment and humiliation, use domination
Analytic needs not met?
“Get it right”, they complain, sense of helplessness, hopelessness, do it your way
Amiable needs not met?
“Get along”, agreeable, doesn’t make a decision, doesn’t say anything
Expressive needs not met?
“Get appreciated”, adult temper tantrum, exaggerate
Good team environments
Quality, satisfying closure, eliteness, heterogeneity, preserve successful teams, strategic direction
Teamicide environment
Defensive management, fragment people’s time, silly deadlines, overtime

Fight, run, or freeze: respond to threats or aggression by fighting back, running, or becoming unable to function
