- symptoms
- exacerbating and relieving factors
- past medical history
- personal and family skin disease
- drug history including timeline and non prescribed treatments
- social, occupations and travel negative /positive sexual history
- psychosocial impacts of skin disease

Performing as examination
A
- adequate exposure and good lighting
- include hair/scalp, mucous membranes and nails
- comment on morphology : how individual lesion looks and distribution / sites involved
- examine other systems if appropriate
- palpate

Signs of inflammation
A
- Rubor (redness)
- Calor(heat)
- Tumour(swelling)
- Dolor(pain) symptom
- Functio laesa (loss of function)
- Pruritus(itching)

What is eczema?
A
Also known as atopic dermatitis, is a chronic skin condition that makes the skin red, dry, itchy and cracked

How is eczema caused?
A
- develops in connection with other conditions such as asthma and seasonal /food allergies
- triggered by soap, detergents or stress

The psychosocial impact of having eczema
A
- children with allergic eczema have a worse quality if life than children with asthma, diabetes or epilepsy
- children with allergic eczema may also miss days of school, skip activities and feel social isolation
