Sales and Operations planning
A multi discipline process where all critical functions will agree on an action plan to fulfill the strategic goals of the company in order to control Lead Times and Costs
Lead Times
A span of time required to perform a process
Types of lead times
Cummulative lead time: longest planned length of time to acomplish the activity
Delivery lead time: the time from the receipt of a customer order to the delivery of the product.

Master Schedule
A detailed planning process that tracks production output and matches this output to actual customers

Push System
Material is moved towards the next process as soon as it has been processed
Pull System
Material is moved when the next process wants it
Bullwhip effect
A slight increase in the end of the supply chain will leads to a large increase at the beginning of the supply chain.
