Lecture 2 Flashcards
1
Q
What components are required to generate naive T lymphocytes?
A
- pluripotent stem cell (CD34+) differentiates into lymphoid progenitor cells
- IL-1,2,6,7 combine from dendritic cells to form the naive T cell
- naive T cell can then form CD4+ Th or CD8+ Tc
2
Q
What is the process and components that are required to generate naive B cells?
A
- Pluripotent stem cell (CD34+)
- lymphoid progenitor cell combines with IL-1,6,7 from stromal cells
- Produces B lymphocyte
3
Q
How does proliferation differ between a fetus and a newborn?
A
- fetus have proliferation process in the liver.
- after birth the proliferative process occurs in the bone marrow.
4
Q
What areas of the body have minimal to no amount of lymphocytes circulating?
A
- eye
- brain
- testicles.
5
Q
In response to chemokines, lymphocytes are able to hone in to a certain tissue and transmigrate. What is the process by which they do this?
A
- diapedesis
