  • Make sure dataset is representative of the population of interest
  • Develop appropriate rules, standards, metrics for data annotation
  • Incorporate domain-specific knowledge:
    Which predictive features are
    important
    Which predictive features can
    introduce bias
    Which features can be acting as
    proxies and introduced bias?
    Which relevant features are omitted/missing?
    etc.
