What is a causal loop diagram(CLD)?

A way to represent a system within system dynamics.

A
Models the relationship between elements in a system and how these relationships influence the behavior of the system over time

What is a stock and flow diagram?
A
A calculable representation of the system derived from the CLD made up of stock variables and flow variables

What is a stock variable?
A
It’s measured at one specific time and represents a quantity existing at that point in time, which may have accumulated in the past.

What is a flow variable?
A
Is measured over an interval of time. Therefore, a flow would be measured per unit of time.
