What is technology fallacy?
Technology fallacy is a term used technology creates changes. It focus on the knowing-doing gap, the gaps that might exists in adaption and the digital maturity of the company.
Can you explain the different gaps; Adoption, adaption and assimilation? (Kane et al)
Adoption gap = technology changes faster than individuals can adopt it
Adaption gap = individuals adapt more quickly to change than organizations can
Assimilation gap = organizations adjust more quickly than legal and societal institutions can
What is absorptive capacity?
“An organization’s ability to identify, assimilate and transform using external knowledge, research, and practice”
If you want to increase absorptive capacity, what elements should you look at?
- Relation specific assets
- Knowledge sharing routines
- Complementary resources and capacity
- Effective governance
What is digitally maturing?
The ability to respond to the environment in an appropriate manner. The process of current change and adaptation as maturing.
What is an Accountability framework?
A framework that define roles, responsibilities and processes for building and using the digital platform. Ensures autonomy and alignment.
How do you develop an accountability framework?
- Distinguish responsibility for internal processes for new digital offerings
- Implement gradually
- Create coaching roles
- Rethink governance
