Lecture 12- Enzyme linked Receptor Flashcards
How are enzyme-linked receptors different from G-protein linked receptors?
Enzyme-linked receptors have their own enzymatic activity, and do not work through Trimeric G proteins.
What do receptor tyrosine kinases undergo?
Dimerization and autophosphorylation.
What is dimerizarion?
When two receptors phosphorylation each other on multiple tyrosines.
Two receptors phosphorylating each other on multiple kinases is what?
Dimerization.
What is the first step in relaying the signal to the cell interior for receptor tyrosine kinases?
Dimerization.
What class of enzyme-linked receptor will we focus on?
Receptor tyrosine kinase.
What do SH2 domains do?
They bind to phosphorylase do tyrosines.
What do SH3 domains do?
They mediate interactions with other proteins.
