= Describes the tendency of people to under-emphasize situational explanations for an individual’s observed behavior, while over-emphasizing dispositional and personality-based explanations for their behavior.

= the tendency of people to see themselves as less susceptible to nonconscious predispositions and cognitive biases than others.

A
= Efficiency-Thoroughness-Trade-Off
–> similar to the speed-accuracy trade-off
- the ETTO principle means that it is impossible to maximise efficiency and thoroughness at the same time.
- violation of certain (safety) rules happen for different reasons:
>Example: routine violations (happen all the time, “everybody does this”)
–> can even be intentional but not to harm, but to be more efficient, quickly
=> there are some rules one cannot possibly follow if they want to do their job
- so people just take the RISK
