What cyclin allows entry into G1 phase
Cyclin D
What cyclin allows entry into S phase
Cyclin E
What cyclin allows entry into G2 phase
Cyclin A
What cyclin allows entry into mitotic phase
Cyclin B (concentrations fall rapidly as anaphase commences)
How do cyclin dependant kinases (CDKs) become activated
CDKs must bind to a cyclin protein and be in a particular phosphorylation state.
What is the nuclear export signal (NES)
NES helps to shuttle cyclin B between the nucleus and the cytoplasm. It is rich in Leucine
What are the steps of SDM
1) Oligonucleotide primers induce mutation in plasmid
2) PCR
3) Digest the DNA using Dpn1 enzyme to leave only mutated
4) Competent E. coli cells are transformed when they take up mutated plasmid
