What is meant by IT Principles?
High level statements about how IT is used in business and the business role of IT.

What is meant by IT Architecture?
Integrated set of technical choices to satisfy business needs. Focus (among others) is on integration and standardization requirements. Relates to data, technology and applications
What is meant by IT infrastructure strategies?
Strategies for the base foundation of shared and enabling technological capabilities that are shared throughout the company but centrally coordinated
(network, shared data, help desk, ERP system)
What is meant by Business application needs?
The needs from the business (units) for purchased or internally developed IT applications
What is meant by IT Investment and Prioritization?
Decisions about how much and where to invest in IT. Also includes project approvals.

How is the business monarchy formed?
A group, or individual, of business executives makes the decisions.
*often in form of committees of business executives, which might include the CIO.
How is the IT monarchy formed?
A group, or individual, of IT executives makes the decisions.
How is the feudal system formed?
Business Unit leaders make the decisions
- or key process owners
How is the federal system formed?
C level executives and at least one other business groups.
The other group can be BU leaders, they can be key process owners, or they can be IT professionals - whatever.
How is the IT Duopoly formed?
IT executives and one other group.
The other group can be BU leaders, or C-levels etc.
