Define gastroenterisis
Inflammation of the stomach and small intestine
Define water borne diseases
Diseases which are Contaminated through ingestion of water
Define water based/related diseases
Diseases in which pathogens spend a part of its life in an intermediate that relates to water such as water snails and mosquitoes
Define water washed diseases
Diseases which may be significantly reduced by improvements in domestic and personal cleanliness
Define infectious disease
An illness caused by a specific infectious agent that arises due to transmission of that agent from an infected person, animal, or reservoir to a susceptible host, either directly or indirectly through a vector
What is nutrition
Study of intake required for growth and energy
What is diarrhoea
It is characterised by the passage of more then three liquid or loose stools within a 24 hour period, affecting the consistency and quantity of stool
