In unprotected periodic tenancy, either can give notice to quit. Period depends on lease term, unless agreement specifies
Weekly - 1 week
Monthly - 1 month
Quarterly - 1 quarer
Yearly - 6 months

A
Where LL and T act in a way that is inconsistent with continuation of tenancy, eg handing back keys
