Prosecution/ fine- 6 months from discovery. Proceedings must be issued within 2 years of completion

Issued within 1 year of completion
What does enforcement notice do?
Require landowner to alter/remove within 28 days.
If not, LA can enter and carry out works at owner’s expense
Time limit for injunction?
No limit if work unsafe
Options upon discovery of breach of building regs/planning permission

- regularise matters (making term of contract)
- indemnity insurance
- retrospective planning permission/regularisation certificate
