learning theory Flashcards
what are the 2 types of conditioning
classical/operant
what is classical conditioning
learning through association
classical conditioning process
NS = no response
UCS = UCR
UCS+NS = UCR
CS = CR
how does cc relate to attachment
when a child is hungry the person providing the food becomes a source of pleasure which forms a bond
what is operant learning theory
learning through reinforcement
operant conditioning process
certain actions lead to rewards which reinforces the behaviour to be repeated
certain actions lead to punishment which weakens the behaviour to not be repeated
what is positive reinforcement
reward for good behaviour
what is negative reinforcement
removing something unpleasant
who created drive theory
miller/dollard
what is drive theory
- when a baby is hungry the response is to cry
- child learns food is rewarding by removing discomfort
- food becomes primary reinforcer
-person providing becomes secondary reinforcer - attachment is formed
