Learning as a multimodal system Flashcards
What is Country?
Country refers to the living system of all entities that exist in the universe.
People are a part of Country and are embedded in relationships with more-than-human entities such as animals, plants, geographical features, waterways, seasons, tides, weather, skies and celestial bodies.
Country is a Multi-modal system because each of these entities has its own way of knowing and being known.
Examples of Learning through multiple modalities.
Young people learn stories from elders whilst on Country.
Learning occurs through story, song, dance, art, making, doing.
Song lines = sung narrative, but also expressed in art and dance.
