What are problems with globalisation
Problems of globalisation
Some countries do not benefit from globalisation. Infrastructure such as electricity supplies and broadband connections may be patchy or inadequate. In Uganda, for example, only 22% of the country had access to electricity in 2017.
What are some environmental issues for it systems
• Raw materials, including rare earth minerals such as copper, gold, lithium and platinum need to
be sourced.
• Mines, where these are extracted, can expose workers to toxic substances and dangerous working conditions for low pay.
• Mining may poison soil and groundwater supplies.
• Rainforests in places such as Guyana, Brazil and the Amazon basin are being destroyed.
As well as all the raw materials used in manufacture, there is also a need for:
• materials for packaging
• electricity and gas to power the factories
• diesel and petrol for transportation of raw materials and parts
What does Computer Misuse Act 1990 do
This law makes the following activities illegal:
• Unauthorised access to computer material (penalty: up to two years in prison and a fine)
• Unauthorised access with intent to commit further offences (penalty: up to 5 years in prison and a fine)
• Unauthorised modification of computer material (penalty: up to 10 years in prison and a fine)
What does the The Police and Justice Act 2006 do
• The maximum prison sentence under Section 1 of the original Act (“unauthorised access”) was increased from six months to two years.
• Section 3 of the Act (“unauthorised modification of computer material”) was amended to read
“unauthorised acts with intent to impair or with recklessness as to impairing, operation of computer, etc.” and carries a maximum sentence of ten years.
differences between morals and ethics
• Ethics are defined by rules decided by an external source, for example an Acceptable Use Policy or a
Code of Conduct applicable to different professions or organisations.
• Morals refer to an individual’s own principles.
