What is habituation?

A

The waning of a response due to extended exposure. Physiological changes are observed as the response to the stimulus grows weaker.

What is classical and operant conditioning?

A

Classical- UCS=UCR, NS+UCS=UCR, CS=CR.
Operant- desired behaviour is met with a reward therefore positively reinforcing it. Undesired behaviour is met with a punishment therefore negatively reinforcing the behaviour so that it will not be repeated again.

What is song learning?

A

Babybirds will have a critical learning period where they are receptive to learning new songs. During silent period the baby lessons in store is the information. Then during the plastic song period the baby practices at low volume. Later the song crystallisation is enacted which is the final stage of affective song..
